Benns Chocolate is the first local chocolate company to make premium chocolates using cacao beans ethically sourced from Malaysian farmers in support of the country’s cacao sustainability. This movement is supported by the Malaysia Cocoa Board and the company works closely with the board to source and help cacao farmers to grow quality cacao trees for better produce and prices
Benns Chocolate director Wilfred Ng said the latest brand Benns is a purely Malaysian product. “The product we are launching supports Malaysian cacao. So, we’re talking about only Malaysian-origin cacao.
Present at the launch was YB Datuk Hajah Siti Aminah binti Aching, the Deputy Minister of Plantation and Commodities Malaysia and YBrs. Datuk Ramle Kasin, the Director General of the Malaysian Cocoa Board. The MCB is collaborating with Benns Chocolate to support local cacao farmers while encouraging and assisting them in elevating the quality of domestic cacao beans.
