KUALA LUMPUR – 23 March 2022: Paving the way towards success and resilience,
Malaysia Convention & Exhibition Bureau (MyCEB) is enthusiastic to organise an elevating
platform that gather’s Malaysia’s international renowned leading experts at the MyCEB
Association Day with the theme, Dream Possible.
Taking place at Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC) Kuala Lumpur on
23 of March 2022, the event was graced by YB Dato Sri Hajah Nancy Shukri, Minister of
Tourism, Arts and Culture, and gathered around 200 associations leaders in the business
events industry.
“The theme Dream Possible bodes well with how business events work; from the tedious and
complex bidding process to scrutinising every detail on organising a successful business
event, it is possible if we come together and work as a team. The Association Day is an
exciting and invigorating space to be in, with association leaders coming out to share their
knowledge in the industry and I was indeed very inspired to hear about their achievements,”
says Dato Sri Hajah Nancy Shukri, Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture (MOTAC).
Since 2009, MyCEB has been working closely with associations to attract international
conferences, conventions, and symposiums which are all components of business events
industry. “In a fast-changing world and competitive landscape, business event professionals need
competencies and resources to adapt, evolve, innovate, and stay ahead of the game. This is where
MyCEB plays its role as the central agency to assist association leaders in hope to invite future
conferences and congresses to Malaysia and turning our possible dreams to reality,” says Dato’ Sri
Abdul Khani Daud, Chief Executive Officer of MyCEB.
With the reopening of Malaysia’s border to international travelers starting from 1 April 2022,
MyCEB with the full support from the MOTAC and Ministry of Finance is proud to announce
the 3R initiative (Reset, Restart and Responsible) as a recovery programme for the industry.
This include the first recipient of the 3R Initiative which is Asia Turbomachinery & Pump
Symposium – ATPS 2022 which will have 800 delegates from 24 – 26 May.
MyCEB also launched the MySafe Business Events Planner, a joint effort with Business
Events Council Malaysia (BECM). “The new needs of business events delegates will be driven
by safety, trust, cost, confidence and access to the right information. The Planner plays an
important role as a step-by-step format to assist and guide international delegates and event
organisers through the safety measures as well as strengthen public confidence in Malaysia’s
meetings and events industry,” Dato’ Sri Abdul Khani emphasises.
As part of the Bureau’s mission to deliver a viable portfolio of international business events to
attract business visitors to the country, MyCEB takes this opportunity to reward the
associations that have won their bidding for year of 2020 and 2021 by giving out a token of
appreciation.
The momentous event draws the curtains by inking the signing ceremony of a Memorandum
of Understanding (MoU) between Malaysia Convention & Exhibition Bureau (MyCEB) and
Malaysian Handicraft Development Corporation (Kraftangan Malaysia). The signing ceremony
presents the newly appointed Director General, YBrs. Puan Aididah binti Ibrahim and
MyCEB’s Chief Executive Officer, Dato’ Sri Abdul Khani bin Daud.
